I teach my students that every good painting begins with a great drawing, but if I were honest, I'd avoid painting and just keep drawing forever. Besides, I think that every good drawing must start with a good idea. I think that's how my comics began. Pecos Bill was the first launch into the comics art format I worked on, and then it just blasted off.

As a father of 2 young superhero boys, I really only have time to draw before they wake up and after they fall asleep. At times, I try to place my various comic projects throughout the house. I find my 1 minute microwave reheat of coffee turning into 30 minutes of drawing at the kitchen table. There, I hunch over a comic page in the works, and on occasion, one of my young artist sons will plop down with his pencils and paper to draw with me.

There you have it. I'm purely an indy creator who wants to tell stories and to share it with anyone who will read it. In my blog, you'll see several regular columns like Panels from Pages which highlight the amazing art in comic books, Teaching Reflections as an insight to my week of teaching young minds the world of art, and This Week in Pecos Bill Progress that lists the status of my various comic projects.
