"Cheerful" Rufus

 

Newest leader of the Hell's Gulch Gang, "Cheerful" Rufus is far from being amiable. Calm when all is going well, Rufus has been angry and hot-headed ever since he took over the gang. As much as he wants his gang to be successful, he'd rather see the members readmitted as cattlehands on the Perpetual Motion Ranch like the days of great-grandpappy.

 

The concept of the Hell's Gulch Gang comes right from the Tall Tale. In that story, Pecos Bill reforms the gang into the first respectable cowboys. Now, in my story, the gang split away from the ranch and are back to be bandits. I wanted "Cheerful" Rufus and Pecos Bill to have a past, but of course I can't tell you all of it right now.
