Tempernado

The living embodiment of a landscape crushing tornado, Tempernado is all about power and revenge. He remembers the isolation and seclusion his tribe had punished him with. He remembers the feeling of weakness when Pecos had first lassoed him a century ago. Now, he rages against his former foe

I read a story about a Native American myth (unfortunately, I can't place the specific tribe) on how the first tornado was formed. A young boy full of rage was locked into a prison of wood and brick by his tribe after they had no other option. This only enraged the boy more and he would run around his confined space until the pressure and speed of his whirlwind enabled his release. I thought this was a neat origin for this character and I tried to include more of his background in these first 2 issues. The hardest part of drawing him was to show the fury of the storm.
