So, after an emotionally draining and downright discouraging week, I had a couple of bright spots at the tail end. As I went into my classrooms, I found 2 different drawings on both of my desks in both of my schools.

The first drawing is from a 8th grader. I haven't seen this student's art since 6th grade, and I happened to bump into her in the hallways. After a brief conversation on how school is going, we ended up talking about if she's still drawing and asked if she would share some of those drawings at some point. Next day, this rose drawing was waiting outside of my classroom door. It's encouraging that some students still draw and create in spite of no art class.

Well, the 2nd artwork has got to tell a story! But, I have no idea what it the story is. It was drawn by a 2nd grader who was dying to show me. She dropped it off on my desk on one of the days I wasn't there. It's titled, "The Time Traveler," and I bet it could spark an amazing short story.
