Teacher Reflections: Plaster Hands Slide Show

My 8th Grade artists were challenged to plaster sculpt their hands, and then create a sculpture with that hand. Some of these students based it off of pop culture, such as video games (there's a Kingdom Hearts reference) or music. Some students focused on their humor, and some students wanted to present a message, such as the childhood cancer awareness art piece. One of the most interesting approaches was when one of the artists discovered a way to use spools as a pulley system that when engaged, the hand rocks back and forth like it is waving.
