This Week in Pecos Bill Progress: Say Hello to Variant Artists

Well, this week was devoted strictly to the cover of Pecos Bill #3. I forgot how much work goes into these. A lot of the process is just thinking of an idea, sketching it out, throwing that away and starting all over again. I had about 4 ideas before I got confident enough with this design to get the lines finished. I feel good about it, and now need to attack the colors on this. So, that'll take another week if I'm lucky.
Enough about me. Let's look at the other artists working on covers. I don't have any pictures to show you of their designs, but in a couple of weeks, all the covers will be posted.
First up, Joe Patrick, a veteran Cover artist who got his first break with Pecos Bill #2. He is artist for Good Plus Comic as well as cohost on Two-Headed Nerd Comicast. His cover for Pecos Bill #2 is over at IndyPlanet available for purchase or request it through the General Store. I'm humble to have a celebrity create Pecos Bill art.
Next is another veteran cover artist that I'm proud to work with, Logan Richards. Also willing to design and draw, Logan's previous Pecos Bill #2 cover was colorful and brilliant with strong shadows. I'm excited to see his new cover. His Pecos Bill #2 cover is also over at IndyPlanet or can be requested at the General Store.
Welcome aboard a new artist that is willing to work on Pecos Bill, Will Kelly. Will is a young illustrator who with a wide range of style and media knowledge. Check out his work over at his portfolio.
Finally, as an art teacher, I try to get young artists to create a piece. This issue will feature a variant cover by a high school student. She's a huge fan of Nikola Tesla, so I know this artist is just right for the job.
