So it's not a single panel, but all the panels from half a book of Hawkeye. Since it's release, Hawkeye has received acclaim for its Minimalist approach to its art, from David Aja's linework to Matt Hollingsworth's coloring. It is the Hollingsworth's art that I want to highlight this week.

At the back of the Hawkeye graphic novel, Hollingsworth discusses his coloring technique. Using two computer monitors, one of the monitors has the pages all laid out on that screen. On the other screen, he pulls up just one page and begins dropping in his color. What is just beautiful about his style is how limited the palette is for a given page, and then those colors are hinted somewhere in the next page.

In a time when a lot of pencilling, inking, and shading are valued, Hollingsworth pulls off the limited palette remarkably well.
